Welcome back once more.  Here is the final part of my fascinating conversation with Miss Svenson.  We were talking about humour, which to me feels linked to players in spanking films feeling comfortable emotionally and psychologically when they are being filmed.  Please enjoy this final part of the conversation and let us know any of your own thoughts if you want.  Your comments are very welcome.

How do you make the players feel comfortable psychologically and emotionally?

I think having a bit of humour as we go along helps, as I’ve suggested.  As I have said I pick up on the signs and body language as well during filming. Essentially, I try and hope I succeed in making all the girls feel very safe.  It is never about going further than they accept with any of the punishments.  And many of the actresses I work with are becoming very experienced in knowing themselves and their limits and disciplinary desires on any one day.

Girl Next Door only features female disciplinarians.  It has always been clear to me that you have no problems with men but does an all-female environment in Girl Next Door bring something special to how it runs?

Indeed, I have many very good male friends. With Girl Next Door though, I like the idea of an all-female environment.  I wanted to create a fantasy world that is a bit unreachable by men.  They can have a secret view of this world or look into it but have no way of reaching it.  It’s the forbidden fruit idea – a secret fantasy, unreachable and at the same time highly desirable.

Many ‘headmasters’ have asked to offer their disciplinary services but have been turned away! The Bellington ladies are all highly capable and have no need of male assistance.

I can certainly vouch for their skill and experience.  So how do you manage working and directing the disciplinarians in your films?  How do you get the best out of them so that you get a good film at the end of it?

I don’t have to do an awful lot.  They are as you say very skilled.  I give them a guide as to the role I want them to play but not the actual discipline.  I just allow them to be themselves and let their strict personalities come to the fore.

The other thing you do is edit all the films yourself now. I imagine that can be fun but also quite laborious too.  What are you looking for when you edit the action? Do you enjoy this aspect of the production process?

I do enjoy the editing, especially where it’s an interesting and extended storyline. I mentioned before the importance of the dynamics in the films.  I try to focus on that and use different camera angles and spanking positions, facial reaction shots, close ups etc. I also pay close attention to the lighting and edit the light intensities to some extent to enhance moods.  For example, a sharp contrast between light and shadow I find provides for a more dramatic feeling in a scene.  My art and art history background probably influences me.  I love baroque painting and in a way I like to give a similar feeling in some of the films.

You have recently begun filming a few more scenes with men being disciplined. What is your thinking behind Ouchhh.net?

I have been asked quite a lot about why there aren’t many men in any of the films. I get lots of questions asking for films showing naughty men receiving sound bare bottom spankings, strappings and canings.  After exploring the possibilities, I decided recently to have a go at setting up a sister site devoted to female-male discipline.

It’s still part of Girl Next Door Productions, but a different brand with a distinctive new logo.  The Ouchhh.net films focus rather more closely on the disciplinary action with the storylines rather less to the fore than in wellsmackedseat.com films.  I am also rather stricter and firmer with my spanking and caning arm in the female-male films.  We often take the opportunity to film one of these films after the end of one of the shoots with young ladies.  The recent films featuring the naughty plumber came about like that.

I always love seeing the reactions of someone getting a spanking.  Could you describe your perfect spankee?  Or perhaps I could ask what reactions do you love to see from those you are disciplining?

I really love seeing some reaction from those I discipline.  I don’t like loud shouts or screams but I like to feel that a good spanking is having an impact on the recipient.  Some leg kicking and wriggling is great and I think adds to the action in the films.

I do love the young ladies to let me know they are sorry and some pleas for leniency are quite endearing too.  But my viewers will see, whilst a number of the films contain some cheeky moments, I really don’t like so-called brattiness, and I don’t like shouting.  The atmosphere I want to create is a subtle tension between the participants that leads to the inevitable pants down bare bottom smacking and more that the recipient truly deserves.

Could you choose three of your films that you really love from a technical point of view perhaps.  And perhaps from a creative point of view as well.

Well you know, Ian, those can change quite regularly depending on what I’m working on.  I’ll mention three though.  The PE teacher is very recent but I’m proud of the outcome. I’ve wanted to do a PE scene for a long while and then I finally found Miss Kendall, who I think is just perfect for the role.

Teaming her with Susie really worked so well. They were both fantastic with their dialogue and the superb action and positioning.  There wasn’t such an involved storyline perhaps but the sheer variety of positions and the continuous stern admonishment from Miss Kendall made for a very interesting film from a director’s point of view. I hope viewers of the film will feel the same.

I also love the Rehearsal.  I think the film introduced a lovely cultural aspect to the fictitious Bellington world.  Charlotte Appleby and Ariel Anderssen fitted the ballerina student roles beautifully, and were performing some genuine ballet figures from their own experience and learning.  I was very pleased with some of the positions they adopted during the film as each was waiting while the other was disciplined by Miss Mathews (Amy Carter).

Finally, I will mention another recent film – the Cigarettes and a Bottle of Gin film. I love it because it’s a classic grown-up school girl film.  It’s a simple enough storyline and not unknown in similar fictional environments of old.  But it also brought together three lovely young ladies, Charlotte, Cathrine and Danielle whom I had worked with before but not for quite a while.
