Bellington Academy is a traditional establishment and an important part of the curriculum is developing a deep and meaningful understanding and appreciation of the literary heritage. Miss Mathews has a profound knowledge of the literary canon and has studied authors, poets and playwrights from the classics through to the modern era in great depth. She loves to impart this knowledge and understanding to the young ladies at the academy in the hope that it will enrich their lives.
This is naturally one reason why Miss Svenson appointed her to the post of deputy headmistress. Of course, another reason is that she is renowned for her strict discipline which she does not hesitate to employ whenever necessary.
I am sorry to say (well pleased really!) that just such an occasion happened a few months ago, with none other than gorgeous raven-haired Diana. Fortunately, the shortcomings of this young lady (played by Bonnie Belotti) and their correction were captured in a film called Know Your Shakespeare.
It seems that Diana had actually managed to keep out of trouble for some time after the extended discipline she received for the Dancing Shoes escapade. But now it is clear she is falling back into old ways. Miss Mathews has called her in to admonish her for her serious lack of diligence in reading and learning A Midsummer Night’s Dream for her exams.
I have to admire Diana’s honesty but it’s not a sensible ploy with Miss Mathews. Rather than pretending, she admits to her that she really doesn’t like Shakespeare. Furthermore, she actually has the effrontery to laugh when she admits she hasn’t bothered to read the play. Well, I know what’s coming, and sure enough very soon Miss Mathews tells this naughty girl “you deserve a spanking on your bare bottom, young lady. And Miss Svenson agrees with me.” I love hearing those words so much! Over Miss Mathews’s lap Diana goes.
Diana receives a long and methodical sound spanking from Miss Mathews as an initial punishment for her poor work. I like Diana’s dignified acceptance of her punishment but she does kick her legs quite beautifully. She has a lovely way of just wriggling around a little bit whilst essentially letting the spanking happen as it needs to. There are some fine angles in this spanking which I always admire; they make Miss Svenson’s films a pleasure to watch. Diana’s facial reactions are a treat. The sting being imparted is quite clear to imagine from Diana’s grimaces.
After a while Miss Mathews tires of hand spanking but is firmly set on ensuring the lesson is intensified. Poor Diana must fetch the slipper from the slipper box. I love her little soft shoe shuffle back to her mentor with her knickers around her ankles.
It’s over the desk now. Miss Mathews is nothing if not fair. Bent over her desk, Diana is presented with another opportunity to demonstrate she has learnt something. Alas, it is all too obvious she has not even opened the play let alone read any of the drama. Lysander and Hermia have completely passed her by. Although the weaver Bottom should at least be making some impression in her mind after this walloping.
The questions about the play continue, interspersed with fine stingy slipper strokes. Diana’s beautiful athletic cheeks respond so well to the crisp spanks with a beautifully subtle wobble and take on a gorgeous deep pink. At last the slippering ends and off Diana must shuffle to the corner.
The third clip opens with Miss Mathews testing out one of the trusty Bellington hairbrushes on her palm. Poor Diana is soon going to feel the sharp slaps of the unforgiving hardwood on her already pink cheeks.
I find the hairbrush spanking that follows really excellent. It’s not what I’d called an absolute thrashing but again Miss Mathews is methodical in her application with a delightfully measured but firm and insistent peppering of slaps on Diana’s cheeks. The spanking is nicely taken once again and I am so pleased with some of the camera angles once more. At one point I actually feel like I am following the course of the brush on its downward descent to Diana’s pink bottom. Excellent!
Despite Miss Mathews’s efforts though, Diana is still adamant that there is no boy on the scene distracting her from her studies, even when it is pointed out that her bright lipstick and red painted nails rather suggest the opposite. (I’ve got to say though, Diana’s appearance with her red nails and lips and that raven black hair would bowl any young man over I am sure! I notice also that Miss Mathews is sporting a rather lovely shade of lip gloss too. Perhaps sub-consciously in empathy with hapless Diana as she undergoes her punishments.)
Eventually, Diana is ordered to stand and go to the blackboard. It’s time for some more testing – a quote from Antony and Cleopatra – “my desolation does begin to make a better life”. Of course, Diana can’t remember the play and fails to write up the quote properly, even though Miss Mathews slaps her bottom soundly to encourage her as she stands with chalk in hand. It still doesn’t work and I fully understand Miss Mathews’s’ exasperation. It must be so disheartening to teach and feel you have been ignored. There is no other way. It has to be the cane, and not only that, Diana has to stand on the slipper box and bend forward to receive the strokes that Miss Mathews lays on with a will. They are very well taken by Diana with great dignity but unfortunately part way through when she may have thought it was all over, Miss Svenson herself arrives. It transpires that Diana has also bunked off going to church. This boy must be occupying a lot of her time! None of this is likely to impress Miss Svenson one jot. Sure enough, she delivers a final bonus caning in usual fine style. I can only hope that Diana may at last have decided to open a book or two after all this. A fine film all round with excellent and thorough discipline throughout.
